PayPal founder recognized the importance of Bitcoins

The famous venture capitalist and PayPal founder Peter Thiel last Wednesday gave a lecture in the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. During a lecture on entrepreneurship, Bitcoins and business practice, known entrepreneur admitted that Bitcoin is a product of the same ideas, which at the time was based system PayPal.
However, despite the common roots, these two billing systems are designed in diametrically opposite directions. Thus, Thiel acknowledged that any business ideas there are several ways of successful development.

In the context of the speech, the founder of PayPal, these words mean much more than just a tacit recognition of the fact that each business idea has several ways to different types of success.

"What is Bitcoin system is the antithesis of PayPal, so it is that she actually managed to create currency. However, as the system of payments, Bitcoin is not perfect, primarily because that makes it possible to carry out illegal transactions, for example, for Bitcoins to buy heroin. And up until the transaction using Bitcoin will not legally legitimate, I'll be skeptical, "- said Thiel.

Quite a controversial statement. For various reasons, it can easily support both supporters and ardent opponents of Bitcoin, depending on their personal preferences - sympathy for a decentralized currency, or legitimate e-money, which does not buy everything.

Thiel is well known among the youth of his program Thiel Fellowship, under which offers 20 young people under the age of 20 years, 100 thousand dollars to implement their entrepreneurial dreams instead of studying at university. Perhaps partly so, the founder of PayPal acted in the business school before a crowd of more than 1,000 students.

Thiel also reminded the students that the common myth that all the low-hanging fruit (business ideas) already overripe and could turn into a mess, in part at least is true, but has several "buts».

"There is always a separate hanging fruit and you only need to pick it up," - said Thiel, noting that the monopoly is bad, because killing creativity in the competition.
