Volvo opens the circuit area of ​​2 square kilometers of testing autonomous vehicles

Swedish automaker Volvo открывает circuit AstaZero , specially designed for testing active safety systems and fully autonomous vehicles. Unlike other similar test circuits, AstaZero not intended to test the car "iron" on different road surfaces, and to verify the ability of software and electronics to drive a car in real traffic conditions. Autodromo includes four city blocks from the intersection, site multilane highways, high-speed section and country roads.



AstaZero Volvo built together with several other automakers, in particular by Scania, which produces trucks. At the landfill will be testing machine interaction not only with the other cars, but also with pedestrians, cyclists and even ran out on the track animals.
