Russian tourists are not welcome

< warns the Foreign Ministry itself
In the development of the issued September 2, 2013 warning the citizens of the Russian Federation about the possibility of being detained or arrested at the request of the US, law enforcement agencies and special services of the Russian Foreign Ministry notes that in recent years the threat has increased substantially due to the introduction of sanctions the US anti-Russian.

The idea is that the US administration, unreasonably refuse to recognize the reunion of the Crimea with Russia, which is fully consistent with international law and the UN Charter, is trying to turn into routine practice of "hunting" for Russian citizens in third countries with a view to their subsequent extradition and conviction in the US usually questionable charges. Thus the American side, ignoring the bilateral Treaty of 1999 on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, does not bother informing the Russian authorities about the charges against our compatriots charges, and in many cases not even notify their detention Russian consular offices.
Russian embassies and consulates general are doing their utmost to return home in distress Russians, providing them with all the necessary consular and legal assistance.

However, it should be borne in mind that "justice in the American" differs biased against Russian citizens, and themselves trials of those who were actually kidnapped and taken to the United States, usually end in convictions with long prison terms as happened to Viktor Bout and K.V.Yaroshenko.

Given these circumstances, again strongly recommend Russian citizens to refrain from trips abroad, especially in countries which have concluded agreements with the United States on mutual extradition (a list of these countries is available on the website of US State Department), if there are suspicions that the US law enforcement can push them any claim
