Toyota Cs & s: sporty hybrid

At the Frankfurt Motor Show 2003 Toyota unveiled its concept car Toyota CS & S (Compact Sports & Specialty). Open car is built according to the formula 2 + 2 in size occupies a position between the Celica and MR2. Toyota CS & S Concept uses a hybrid powerplant, which includes established within the framework of 1, 5-liter gasoline engine that drives the rear wheels and a powerful electric motor in the front wheel drive.





The purpose of the Toyota CS & S is to prove that hybrid technology is not only environmentally friendly, but also can provide a decent dynamics of the lightweight sports car. Toyota's hybrid propulsion system (also used in the Toyota Prius) involves the use of a powerful electric motor, which means that all the car relies less on the petrol engine, even at critical moments of acceleration or climbing.
