Probably one came to Solovki sooner or later tell the story about the Russian pyatisotrublevuyu bill, on the reverse side which shows a panorama of the Solovetsky monastery. The artist painted the panorama seems never been to Solovki because it depicted the monastery in the form in which it was when it was a Soviet concentration camp - the same Solovki Special Purpose Camp (SLON). In May 1923 the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery was badly damaged in a fire and in such form, with hipped roof instead of domes, stood until the early 80-ies.
