Excursion to the Tower
Ostankino Tower was commissioned in 1967. Its construction lasted almost 7 years. It is the highest TV tower in Europe, its height is 540 meters. On the tower is transmitting equipment of Russian TV channels, several radio stations, repeaters and other personal mobile communication equipment as well as operational and ad hoc communications. Also located on the tower Meteorological Observatory. The television signals are distributed within a radius of 120 km from the tower. The tower 7-speed elevators, 45 floors, total usable area of over 15 thousand square meters. On the tower has a public observation deck at a height of 337 meters and a restaurant "Seventh Heaven" with a rotating floor, revolves around the axis of the tower for an hour at an altitude of 328 meters. Above the viewing platform, as well an outdoor wrap-around balcony, access to which is not provided for ordinary tourists. However, the tower several dozen open technical balconies serviceable transmission antennas: once a week at night for a few hours of the transmitter is turned off and special workers climb the tower that would check the equipment or undertake other work without risking to fall under the impact of electromagnetic radiation. < br />
In August 2000, the tower suffered a major fire that resulted in human casualties and serious material losses. Nearly 10 years it has been closed to tourists. All this is currently undergoing renovations and reconstruction work. Now the restaurant is still closed, but the observation deck reopened to visitors.

Recently ago the management of ITC to make a small tour of the tower for bloggers and journalists.
1. The tower so high that over a hundred meters hardly fit into the lens.
2. If we consider it carefully, you will notice that it is all studded with antennas of different shapes and sizes. As thereon are winch for mounting and dismounting of these for the antennas.
3. There may be good to consider the first three floors of this restaurant "Seventh Heaven" on them observation deck where you can observe the glass floor, just above the observation that most outdoor balcony "not for everyone" go above technical levels with the transmitting equipment.
4. Nearby is a small outdoor exhibition of retro cars.
After inspecting the surrounding area have been invited to the Tower: inspection at the entrance seemed even honest than at the airport (in 1996 it was in simpler) - were asked to not only take out and show absolutely all metal objects, keys, cell phones and other gadgets, but also asked to include camera, tripod show, see-through lenses and "rang" all somehow advanced metal detector. After that all the visitors have passed the passport control on the customs. Inspection was slow and meticulous, but for the safety of the Tower, its staff and visitors can be calm. The guards, it should be noted, were very polite and correct. And here we are inside.
5. On the first floor of the tower is a museum, which contains different elements of transmitters, instruments and all sorts of instruments, old television sets and radios, historical photographs. Here you can see the Soviet flag, once hung at the very top of the tower. Flag battered by winds and rain, and it looks as if it went to the attack.
Then they showed us that not everyone shows the usual tourists: official passes and where the hardware installed television transmitting equipment. Unfortunately, not all buildings were allowed to shoot. Strategic facilities and all that. However, if you've ever been to the server or at the telephone exchange, it is unlikely that there would have something surprising, except perhaps that the ring round the corridors and rooms with the round windows. But I've been reminded of my great practice in Rostelecom in his student years.
6. That the equipment rack kompnaii Acadia is also located in the tower.
7. There is a transfer of signals essential channels of studio quality
8. And finally, we have delivered high-speed elevator to the observation deck at a height of 337 meters.
9. In the floor there is a window with armored glass thickness 3cm even if the fattest man in the world decides to jump on them, with them, absolutely nothing happens. Not fear.
In an open balcony and we were not allowed, so I had to settle for shooting through glass, that, you know. But since I came here vosnovnom for the species, still I decided to shoot them. So, please consider these frames is not so much an aesthetic as from the information point of view. By the way, on a viewing platform there are no restrictions on taking and using optical devices. For those who do not, there is a very good telescopes with increasing
10. Panoramic views certainly do not shoot: glare, abrasions. Although the quality and purity of glass is better than at the Prague TV tower.
11. Well, pinned telephoto and I decided to see something grow larger. That Space Pavilion at the Exhibition Centre.
12. Pond and Green Theatre at the Exhibition Centre.
13. Types vosnovnom then here are: Centre, City and other interesting places far and near from the interesting except that the OCE.

16. Exhibition Centre. Pavilion №1 - popular with fans and Rufer show "Field of Dreams." Behind him you can see a new exhibition hall "Russia": a seemingly nothing was demolished, but an ensemble of old arches and pavilion for her loss. Moscow.
17. Hotel Cosmos, a monument Conquerors of Space and Metro station VDNKh.
18. Station "Academician Queen Street" monorail. Although for me this place is memorable for other reasons.
19. The Ferris wheel at the Exhibition Centre, the main entrance and the newly restored monument "Worker and Collective Farm Girl".
20. The high-rise on the Agricultural street (here, too, it will be necessary to climb)
21. LCD Tricolor. How many more unknown (by me) towers!
