Robot project for the dismantling of concrete structures

There's a reason for the destruction of buildings where explosives are used: it is quite a quick way of dismantling of reinforced concrete structures. But this gives a hell of a lot of dirt and debris:

Small-scale destruction technologies require the use of heavy equipment when the building destroyed piece by piece, until the workers poured water breaks to reduce the amount of dust. Obtained with this method of mass wreckage landfilled or recycled, which produces time-consuming operation to separate the valve from concrete fragments.

All these deficiencies deprived concept robot ERO:

Author of the idea, Omer Hadzhiomeroglu (Omer Haciomeroglu), working in the Swedish Institute of Design Umea. The project won a gold medal in the category Student Designs contest IDSA. This robot would not only be very energy efficient way of dismantling buildings, but also would provide waste recycling in the course of work. "In order to avoid subsequent separation and transportation of waste, the recycling process begins with separation on-site dismantling", writes the author of the project.

The design of the robot allows disassembly without debris and dust, and also allows reuse of materials in the construction of other buildings. Destruction of concrete made using a jet of water under high pressure.

The highlight of the project is its environmental friendliness and intelligent approach to the process of dismantling, providing a high degree of reuse of the material. Today dismantling usually done by heavy machinery, operated by the operator. This requires a large power consumption. It is necessary to continuously spray water to prevent the formation of dust. At the end of the work area must be cleaned of debris, carry it to the landfill or recycling. Concrete ground in several steps, and the resulting substance can be used resulting in a simple construction, low loaded constructions. Fittings goes into meltdown.

ERO autonomous robots can be placed in different areas of the building. They scan the surrounding area and determine the way in which they will follow when removing. Starting to work, ERO literally washed building. Destroyed by a jet of water at once concrete is sucked from the working area, after which there is separation of cement and water. Next, the resulting solid fraction is packed in industrial bags, which are marked and sent for recycling. Water enters the system again. Packing unit supplies electricity ERO and creates a negative pressure suction. Turbulent dynamo located in the air path of the robot, will offset part of the electricity consumed. Dust, debris and dirt does not enter the environment. Even fittings cleared of concrete, dust and rust, immediately ready for use again. Each cubic centimeter of a building can be reused in the construction.
