A trip to the Chernobyl zone (32 photos + text)

We leave the town of Chernobyl, and our way at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and then in Pripyat. But first a little detour to the right, toward the Slavutych. Slavutych - the town built in the years 1986-1986, 50 km to the east of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant workers and their families, as well as migrants from the city of Pripyat. With NPP city is connected by train and bus links.

We go back to the track and drive to the next check point: here is the entry in the 10-kilometer portion around the plant. Security verifies only the number of people in the bus with the number in the list.

Former Village Kopachi. After the accident, it is literally buried under the ground - it was heavily contaminated

The familiar yellow triangles in the former homes

The village (if we move in the direction of nuclear power) is on the right, and if you look to the left, then over the forest you can see the outlines of the project "Chernobyl-2", officially - horizon radar station "Arc". It's part of the missile and space defense troops of air defense. After the accident at the nuclear power station was closed.

The complex of the 5th and 6th reactors (third place). Unfinished 5 th and 6 th unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant them. Lenin never put into operation. The fifth unit was planned for commissioning in 1987, and the sixth - in 1989. After the accident, the work had been frozen and then canceled altogether.

The railway line to the right leads to the territory of the plant. On the left there were ways to crash the usual long-distance trains, Chernigov, Zhitomir example, as well as Moscow-Khmelnitsky, passengers whose April 26, 1986 in exchange for tickets issued license "Chernobyl».

Railway station "Midsummer", located almost between the Pripyat and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. If I understood correctly, it was the train "station" of Pripyat.
