Back in the USSR (30 photos)

Author - Jerry Cook, a famous American photographer, photojournalism from the past school assistant in the darkroom to the photo department chief of the magazine «Sports Illustrated», founder of the National Press Photographers Association (American Society of Media Photographers). Jerry (Yuri) was born in Russia in 1921. In 1923, his family lost everything as a result of the revolution, left Russia, first in Italy and then in Berlin and India. Jerry moved from India to New York and began working there in the photo agency of his uncle, simultaneously mastering the art of photography. Jerry was lucky - he hired a new editor at the magazine Life, then he signed a contract with Time Inc., as a photographer. Cook was one of the first Western photographers who, after the death of Stalin was allowed into the Soviet Union. Jerry Cook died three years ago at the age of 84 years.
