Little daredevils
Stories about children who showed miracles of heroism and dedication.
Nathan Thomson, age 9
The boy was shot in the face when he tried to save his mother from a rabid drug addict with a knife. Nathan jumped on the back of Hugh Clark, who was about to kill his mother Ena. Clark was distracted by an annoying misunderstanding in the form of a little boy and stabbed him in the face, severely scaring him. But even in this state, Nathan was able to run out of the house through the emergency exit and call for the help of neighbors. As it turned out later, the boy's mother was stabbed eight times, but fortunately she survived, not least thanks to her son. Alexis Gooddins, 7
First-grader Alexis, who attends Campbell High School in Detroit, may consider herself the guardian angel of her own mother, 30-year-old Saleta Parker. Saleta’s lover, for some reason, became enraged and decided, apparently, to shoot his “beloved” while she was in the car with his daughter. When the first shots were heard and the mother was wounded in the head and hands, the girl jumped into the driver's seat and covered her mother with herself, receiving six bullets - in the eyes, chin, temple, cheek, chest and right hand. Miraculously, the girl survived, and now she is in a state of moderate severity in one of the hospitals of Detroit. Mother's on duty. The shooter is detained, he faces more than one year in prison. I hope the girl survives without any consequences.
Kamal Nepali, 12
This brave boy saved a two-year-old girl who fell into a 20-meter crack in the rock. How she got there is a separate conversation. Rescuers tried unsuccessfully to pull the child out for 22 hours but failed. Kamal's older brother, Salum, said a girl like his younger sister had fallen into the hole and the adults couldn't reach her. Kamal agreed to help and went down into the crevice. It was dark and he spent 20 minutes reaching the girl, after which both children were pulled to the surface within 15 minutes. The whole operation took a little more than half an hour, and the small rescuer got off with only a small scratch.
Isabel Keeling, 2 years old
It would seem – what can a two-year-old baby do? it turns out that it can! Isabel's mother, Joanna, felt unwell after taking the medication and began to develop a state of shock. On the verge of losing consciousness, she asked her daughter to call 911, which she did. She was able to dial the number herself, give her name and address, and tell her mom she was very sick. The ambulance arrived on time and the woman was rescued. It is significant that on this day the girl watched another series of children's programs, where the characters just showed how to call for help by calling 911. So sometimes TV can not only harm, but also bring benefits.
Cody McNeece, 5
Cody simply saved his younger three-year-old brother from death by pulling him out of the burning trailer where he was sleeping. The mother could not reach the children’s bedroom from the other end of the house because of the flames in the corridor. If it were not for the five-year-old older brother, the child would most likely suffocate in the smoke. I know that such rescues happen all around us, but unfortunately, even more children die because of the irresponsibility of their parents.
Charlie Simpson, age 7
This boy was a serious ingenuity, trying to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti. He made a sign on his bike that read: My name is Charlie Simpson, I am raising money to help people who lost their homes after the earthquake in Haiti. This money will buy food, water and tents. He posted a similar message on one of the sites. In the end, the boy, who was going to collect 500 pounds, riding around the city, was able to collect more than 120,000 pounds of donations, which were aimed at helping the victims.
Michael Bowron, age 8
Michael and his father Justin were driving a truck home to their farm when the tire burst and the car overturned. When the father woke up a few minutes later, it turned out that his leg was locked in the cabin, and he could not get out on his own and call for help. Michael was able to get out through the broken windshield and tried to free his father with a mount, but he lacked the strength. Then he got to the radio, but it didn't work because of the power chain. With the help of his father’s instructions, the boy connected the necessary wires to the radio, connected the power and called for help.
Aidan Turner, 10
The boy's mother, Amanda Smith, was taking a bath when she suddenly lost consciousness and slipped underwater. Her 10-year-old son quickly discovered her mom was not okay, pulled her head out of the water by her hair and called his grandmother, who works as a nurse at Borders General Hospital. Fortunately, the grandmother quickly assessed the situation and called an ambulance home. As a result, the mother managed to pump, and after three days in the hospital, she returned home.
Muddy McRae, 11
As a result of heavy rains, part of the road was washed away, along which the family of the girl Muddy McRae – a mother and three children – moved in two cars. One of the cars “drived” and she fell into the river, becoming sinking. The girl quickly got out through the broken windshield, swam to the shore, climbed the roots on hard soil and jumped over the electronic fence to the territory of the nearest farm. She called 911 and called rescuers. Those who arrived, with the help of ropes, quickly pulled the cars out of the water captivity and saved all the people in them. Good girl!
