Train collision near Chelyabinsk (15 photos)

August 11, 2011. on the stretch Yeraly - Simsk (1766 km of Kuibyshev Railway, Chelyabinsk region) there was a wreck of a freight train N2707, consisting of two locomotives and 67 loaded gondolas with brown coal, en route to st.Voslebovo Moscow railway. It was found that the train is formed on st.Kilchuk Krasnoyarsk Railway - branch of JSC "Russian Railways". Electric trains belonged operational locomotive depot Chrysostom structural unit of the South Ural Directorate thrust of the structural unit of the South-Ural Railway - branch of JSC "Russian Railways" and operational locomotive depot Penza. According to preliminary data, the train collided with a freight train going ahead N1633 as a result of failure of the braking system. The reason for its failure could serve as a low-quality repair electric brake line.
