Zara
Spanish brand name "Zara" is known as a major manufacturer of men's, women's and children's clothing. And this story began, without exaggeration, the world famous brand back in 1975, when opened the first store "Zara". While there, it all started much earlier and, as usual, by accident.
One evening, a young apprentice of one of the top fashion designers in the port town of La Coruna Amancio Ortega was walking with his girlfriend Rosalie.
A loving couple saw in one of the showcases luxurious silk robe, buy that for Rosalie the young tailor had no chance. But Ortega remember the model and in a few days has created similar. This gave him the idea of creating your own company, making exquisite, but affordable underwear, which was implemented.
Soon the whole of La Coruna knew about a young designer, and then fame spread beyond the city limits, Amancio started to accept wholesale orders. But in 1975, the German customer has canceled a large order in which Ortega put all available funds. For the sake of the business the couple decided to sell their own clothes. And so came the first store "Zara" on one of the central streets of La Coruna 15th May 1975.
By the way, originally wanted to call Amasya their offspring "Zorba" by the name of the beloved hero of the film "Zorba the Greek" by Anthony Quinn. But there were problems with the registration wizard and chose the name "Zara". Mark quickly became successful in the homeland, but has not been able to enter the international market. The first store abroad was opened in Portugal in 1988. The main problem was a slow renewal of the range, because new items appear only 2-3 times a year. Information technology specialist Jose Maria Kasteyyano solved this problem by creating a unique and innovative model of production and distribution of products. Through computer modeling, the time between the creation of new products and the emergence of commercially reduced to 10-15 days.
