In gratitude

The project, dubbed Okurie, started in the city Onagama. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, many homes and buildings simply can not be reversed and are scheduled for demolition. It includes paintings and murals on the buildings that will soon be demolished.





About two years ago the artist Yosuke Tang visited the site, where he saw that the school building, where he was studying, preparing for the demolition. Gathering is now inactive graduates of the institution, he decided to leave his mark in history, remembering their handprints on the windows of the school.



Graduates supported his idea. It was used 27 liters of paint. But the result was worth it. Cherry blossom cherry trees created from handprints, decorated windows of the building. For graduates of this kind of farewell to the school, in which they spent their school years.



Yosuke Tan said: Hundreds of flowers were painted by former students. Handprints - a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the school. Layer by layer appeared flowering cherry trees, which gave the heat despite the cold cracks in the walls of the building. This reflected heat of people who once studied here.
