Detroit



Only five decades ago, Detroit was a multimillion metropolis with a thriving economy. He was called the automobile capital of the United States, because this is where the headquarters of the major car manufacturers such as General Motors. But because of the petrol crisis the city was in decline: many factories have been closed, most of the well-off population fled their homes, leaving abandoned whole areas (78,000 houses are empty) .



Today in Detroit is home to 707,000 residents, of them 84% - blacks. Crime flourishes, as in any other American city. Recently, local authorities declared bankrupt city with a debt of $ 18 mlrd.
