Rainbow Village on the island of Taiwan

A small military settlement was founded in the suburbs of the then Taichung around seventy years ago. Its main task was to provide temporary housing contract service soldiers. Time passed, and the military with their families less often chose this place to stay. When the city began to expand, the first for the demolition began just this piece of land. Veteran Huan Yun Fu was categorically disagree with such a situation and to keep the remains of residents from fleeing, he took to paint the streets, representing television heroes, celebrities and all that fits into the surrounding landscape. First drew attention to the work of 86-year-old self-taught artist, the students of the local university. They post pictures of the village on the Internet and told the story of all the surrounding villages. Today, Huang Yun Fu has said the 90-year anniversary, but continues to paint houses and streets. A "Rainbow Village" as it is now called, has become a real attraction in the city, which attracts tourists.
