From the history of the great paintings
The Last Supper, 1495-1498
When Leonardo da Vinci painted the "Last Supper", he emphasized the two figures: Christ and Judas. He is a very long time to find sitters from which it was possible to write these figures. Finally, he managed to find a model for the image of Christ among the young singers. Pick sitter for Judas Leonardo could not in three years. Until one day he came across the street to the drunkard, who was lying in the gutter. He was a young man, grown old binge drinking. Leonardo invited him to an inn, where he immediately began to write with him Judas. When the drunkard came to himself, he said the artist that had once posed for him. It was a few years ago, when he sang in the church choir, and Leonardo wrote with his Christ.
