10 things science can not explain
10. Signal wow
August 15, 1977 Eyman Jerry (Jerry Ehman) has received a radio signal from space, the origin of which all considered potentially or "heavenly" or "non-solar". Surprised by how well the signal matches the expected mark of outer signal Eyman around it on the computer printout and wrote the comment "Wow!". That's saying Eymana and became the name of the signal.
9. Strange flying ship Pioneer 10 and 11
Space research stations Pioneer 10 and 11 (launched in 1972 and 1973.) Long ago have completed their flight through the solar system, but scientists are still paying special attention to them. Although Pioneer 11 was completely lost, the two research stations unexpectedly (and inexplicably) changed the direction of their flight. However, the puzzles do not stop there: it seems that both Korablin headed in the same direction.
Puzzled scientists led a great many assumptions about this computer error, solar winds, fuel leak. However, all this remained only on the level of speculation, nothing was not proven.
8. The female orgasm
Some scientists believe that the female orgasm - a rudimentary concept, that is, it bears no apparent evolutionary function. According to them, the female orgasm in no way does that increased the chances of fertilization. Other researchers argue that this view is false, because they were not taken into account the psychosocial aspects of the female orgasm.
7. Dark energy
Most physicists were once convinced that the expansion of the universe is gradually decreasing. But in 1998 it became clear that it is not. On the contrary, our universe continues to expand. The explanation for this may be a phenomenon called dark energy, which is assumed to be three-quarters of our universe.
By all accounts, the dark energy is rarely distributed and interact with other objects through gravity. Dark energy has negative pressure, due to which she literally rips the universe. This is what explains the constant expansion of the universe.
6. The speed of light
According to the theory of relativity, nothing is faster than the speed of light. Well, the scientists had to try to do the impossible, and they did. In 2000, scientists at the University of Princeton sent a small laser pulse through a vapor produced from the gaseous cesium. The researchers achieved their goal: a laser pulse moving in the vapor space faster than light.
5. The placebo effect
Placebo - a pill or a drug that is essentially a drug, but does not actually contain any active ingredients, and therefore has no impact on the person receiving the placebo. This mysterious phenomenon called the placebo effect. That's how our mind can affect health is still not fully clear to science, but scientists are working hard on this and may soon be ajar veil of secrecy.
4. Cold fusion
When atoms collide with enough force, they can be combined. Along with this merger releases massive amounts of energy. All kinds of scientific theories assert us that this can happen only in an environment with an incredibly strong energy, for example, in the solar core.
However, scientific experiments have shown that such can be achieved in a real situation. If you spend a voltage between the electrodes of palladium, it is in water that contains deuterium, heavy hydrogen, an incredible phenomenon to happen in front of you.
3. Yawning
Yawning decided to take as a sign of fatigue or boredom, but no one can deny the fact that a person yawns, not only when he is bored or sleepy. Anaerobic athletes such as weightlifters or sprinters often notice that yawn during active training and competition. Yawning plus everything else and inexplicably "contagious": if someone close to you yawn, you will want to do the same.
One of the hypothetical functions of yawning is the accumulation of carbon dioxide. However, this does not explain all aspects of yawning, for example, why it is still so contagious.
2. Dark matter
All objects attract other objects, and the more objects can attract this or that object, the greater its power of attraction. Everything is quite simple. However, the current understanding of the concept of gravity does not give us an explanation of why the visible objects are moving freely in the universe.
In order to solve this problem, modern physicists have created a special hypothetical substance - dark matter. The presence of dark matter can be determined only by its gravitational effects that it has on the larger items. It is believed that dark matter makes up most of the mass of the universe.
1. What happened before and what comes after
There are many different theories describing what would happen if our universe did come to an end. But also full of different hypotheses for the origin of our world. Yes, in this case, it is not necessary to be a specialist of quantum mechanics in order to say that any of these theories can not be verified on truthfulness.
Some questions can not be answered simply. To get a person after death? What is the purpose of human life? These issues are still a long time will not give peace a curious mind of man.
