Pioneer will begin production of 16-layer disc Bashny.Net

Pioneer Japan reported that the company was able to successfully complete the development of 16-layer Blu-Ray-ROM that will fit 400GB of information; that is, each layer will be recorded for 25 GB. Most interesting is that reading device for such disks does not exist in a form that would allow the player to start mass production, but the wheels are ready to start selling.
