The flooding in Madeira
Unprecedented in the history of the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic rain hit the island on Saturday. Over 8 hours on a monthly norm of precipitation has fallen. Streams of water picked up and carried away houses, cars, people. More than 40 people were killed and about 120 were injured in the strongest over the last 17 years floods and mudslides. To save the local residents and tourists, as well as to combat the effects of the flood on Sunday rescuers arrived on the island, and workers from Portugal.
