Charles and Camilla Queen Camilla was never considered beautiful. I did not dream of marrying a royal son. Although the woman was born into a noble family, she was not titled. Nevertheless, she managed not only to get engaged to Prince Charles, but also to receive the honorary title of Queen consort of Great Britain.

Camilla Rosemary Shand’s personal success story has attracted thousands of views. Someone liked her, and someone sincerely wondered how such a person could be in the royal family. But the Queen's triumph at the coronation was hard to miss. Now it is definitely in its place.

On May 6, 2023, Camilla Parker-Bowles officially ascended the throne as Queen. The ceremony was held at Westminster Abbey. It was attended by almost the entire royal family, as well as a lot of invited guests, including many politicians, including the first lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelensky.

Coronation day was scheduled by minute. The solemn procession left Buckingham Palace in the morning. The State Diamond Jubilee Carriage was chosen as the vehicle. There are rumors that being in it is very uncomfortable. But it's tradition! The length of the carriage is almost 5 meters, and it weighs as much as 3 tons. There are 6 horses in the team, otherwise this work of art will not budge.

The coronation part for Camilla began when she was to give an oath speech to the king. Of course, she ascended the throne much more modest than Charles III. Yet it was just as solemn and touching.

To make Camilla officially Queen of Great Britain, she was anointed, crowned and enthroned. No new crown was made for Camilla. She was crowned by the great-grandmother of King Charles, Queen Mary. The stones were replaced. Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds, cut from the largest diamond in the world.

GettyImages Just think about those numbers! There are over 2,000 diamonds on the silver crown. And its weight is almost 600 grams. The crown itself is over 100 years old. This is the first time an old crown has been worn on a new queen. Thus, monarchs want to honor the memory of their ancestors.

The Queen’s pages were played by her grandchildren: 12-year-old Gass, 12-year-old Louis, 13-year-old Freddie Parker, as well as 11-year-old grandnephew Arthur Elliot. During the coronation, Camille was awarded regalia: a rod with a pigeon and a scepter with a cross. The bird in this context represents the Holy Spirit.

The scepters of the king and queen date back to 1685, when the very first coronation of Mary of Modena took place. They were used in every coronation ceremony. The Queen was also given a hollow golden sphere. At the top of the ball is a cross, and precious stones and pearls divide it into 3 parts. This regalia was created in 1689 for Queen Mary II. It is the symbol of imperial power.

As a gift to Camille, she received a special Queen Consort ring. It is placed on the ring finger of the right hand. The decoration was made in 1831 for Queen Adelaide. The ring is decorated with an octagonal cut ruby surrounded by 14 diamonds.

According to tradition, the Queen consort changed 2 robes at the ceremony. One of them was worn by Elizabeth II, and the second was sewn specifically for the coronation. She was dotted with embroidery with plant motifs. And it harmonized perfectly with Kate Middleton's outfit. The ladies looked wonderful!

We welcome the new King and Queen of Great Britain and wish them a long life.
