Why Children Don't Like School

To learn something, you must be able to be wrong. There is no shame in this: we gain experience and knowledge through trial and error. But somehow our teachers forget about this and instead of the promised carrot, they increasingly use a stick. Our children are instilled in fear at school, and grades and too frequent knowledge checks take away students’ motivation.

We often hear about the success of foreign school programs. Alternative teaching methods have long been practiced in other countries. The world has changed a lot since the '90s, so it's not unusual that our schools are also demanding change.

Society needs a school that would understand students in everything and know how to stay with them on the same wavelength. A school where there is an individual approach to everyone, which will help to reveal the identity and talents, abilities of the child. Society needs people with original and unconventional thinking – our children need freedom of personal growth.

Eleven-year-old participant of the conference "Tomorrow by Name" The kids don’t like it in modern school. Editorial "Site" I have gathered all the facts and will share the student’s thoughts with you.

10 Reasons Why Children Don’t Want to Go to School
  1. Fear of teachers
School discipline is based on fear of teachers. Children are afraid of their teachers, which prevents them from building friendships. Of course, teachers must maintain authority and students must show respect. But there should be a measure in everything, and it should be determined based on how much the situation contributes to improving academic performance.

  2. Fear of evaluation
Teachers and parents constantly evaluate children, and for poor grades punished. It seems that schools do not look at who the child is and what he is interested in. Students are judged only by grades in a journal or journal.
  3. Fear of error
Children in school are afraid of making mistakes. In fact, making mistakes is a natural process, only in this way will you be able to learn something. Modern teachers should take note of this.

  4. Mockery.
Another factor that takes away the desire to go to school is ridicule from classmates. Excess unrealized energy in children’s society often provokes psychological pressure. This is also facilitated by teachers who impose their own stereotypes. 326262

  5. Teacher prejudice
Our children need to learn and realize as the heart desires, regardless of the opinions of others. Schools must eliminate prejudice, for example: bead weaving is only for girls, and woodworking is only for boys.

  6. Stupid tests
Most of the tests given in the classroom do not provide their own answer. Students try to guess the right decision, but there may be an opinion to write down. More than half of the information we learn in school is likely not to be useful in adulthood. Yes, this knowledge forms a person’s awareness, but why memorize it so carefully?

  7. Number of homework assignments
Unfortunately, not all teachers adhere to the established standards for the volume of homework. The program forces the child to sit 2-3 hours in the evening for lessons. Teachers simply follow the plan, without monitoring the effectiveness of training.

  8. Prohibition of uniqueness
Self-expression is not encouraged in schools. Teachers don’t like it when someone is different. This deprives children of the opportunity to be themselves, they are imposed from childhood syndrome “gray mouse”.
  9. School doesn’t motivate you to be happy.
The main thing in life is to be happy. Obtaining knowledge should bring pleasure, only in this way a person can develop harmoniously. School should teach you how to define your own interests and live your life doing what you love.

  10. Lack of experience with information
We live in the information age. The presentation of information can be made more concise and exciting. Instead of the usual board, you can submit information in video format. Or through interactive games or even virtual reality. Our brains are wired so that when we're interested, we can absorb information more easily. So why not use it.

Childhood is a springboard into adulthood. But modern school It does not provide useful knowledge about how to live in society. After all, from a young age, you need to talk about how to earn a living, control expenses or build relationships correctly.

People begin to form their habits from an early age. So why not instill everything good from childhood? Love your children and be happy with success. Do you think these are good enough reasons to not want to go to school?
