In December 2021, an article appeared on how children with disabilities are being helped in Mariupol. The hero of this material was 18-year-old Mikhail Rogozhin. As a child, the boy was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Since he was not accepted into regular kindergartens and schools, he had to study in a specialized boarding school.



Back then, few people heard about inclusive learning. In practice, it was not used at all. So the pupils of special boarding schools were doomed to isolation, because they simply could not socialize. To avoid this, specialists began to introduce an inclusive approach to the education of special children. First of all, these people become visible to the whole society. Secondly, inclusion contributes to the full development of solar children.



Misha's mother decided to introduce him to inclusive classes. In Mariupol, she recorded her son in the creative workshop “Talent”. There, together with other children, he was engaged in needlework and drawing, and also participated in theatrical productions. He developed his skills, socialized and communicated with people who understood him.

Life is divided into "before" and "after" And then in Ukraine began a full-scale war unleashed by Russia. She paused the life of not only Misha, but also other special children. A sunny boy will no longer be able to come to the workshop and meet his friends. And from the destroyed Mariupol he had to flee.

But the sunny boy flatly refused to go anywhere. To persuade the guy, his mother invented a story about how in Holland Misha will meet the idol of his life.

Misha has long been following the activities of cult wrestler John Cena. The boy saw all the fights with his participation and collected posters with his image. The collection had to be left at home. And soon it became known that nothing remained of the Rogozhin’s dwelling. A Russian missile hit it.



Misha went to Holland, believing that John Cena would meet him there. However, that did not happen. Mom cheated on her son because the situation demanded it. Unfortunately, this led to the fact that the boy closed himself, stayed at home for a long time and did not want to communicate with anyone.

Nevertheless, John Cena still found out about Misha Rogozhin. Coincidentally, The Wall Street Journal published an article about the impact of the war in Ukraine on people with disabilities. The boy became one of the heroes of the article, which was read by a famous wrestler. Then the man decided to visit Misha and flew to Amsterdam, where the family of the guy lived in the refugee center.



News John Cena gave his devoted fan a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) belt, T-shirt, cap and other memorabilia. He described his trip to Amsterdam as a wonderful adventure. The joy of a dream come true is what the sunny Misha experienced when he met his idol.
