Without suspecting anything, I got on the plane, but when the pilot spoke, my heart went down in my heels, I hadn't heard that voice in 20 years.

Lidia Mikhailovna is a judge with experience. She repeatedly had to make the defendants disappointing verdicts. However, despite this, the woman is convinced: Everyone has the right to a second chance. And if the heroine can give it, she will definitely do it. This is exactly what happened at the dawn of her career, when an 18-year-old boy fell to the court of Lydia Mikhailovna. What happened and how this story ended, read further in the article.

As a child, I always stood up for those who were mocked. I don’t know why people do bad things and hurt each other. Even then, I firmly decided that I would grow up and start helping others to pursue the truth. My parents encouraged me to become a judge, and this profession attracted me.

I studied well and I caught everything on the fly. Step by step, my career went uphill, and I enjoyed being a guardian of order and justice. When I was 25, I married a beautiful man with whom I no longer had to fight and prove anything.

Anton made me the happiest woman in the world. And then I gave birth to a daughter, and our lives changed dramatically. I began to work even more, and devoted all my free time to my husband and child. Our Nata is now 20 years old and doesn’t live with us, but I still try to help her as much as I can.

My husband often scolds me that we do not rest at all. Recently, he gave me a surprise: he bought tickets to Italy for a week's holiday. I haven’t flown anywhere in years, so I’m really excited. When I got on the plane, I had no idea what was waiting for me. When the pilot started talking, my heart went down my heels.

I heard a painfully familiar voice and decided at all costs to find out if I was wrong. The thing is, 20 years ago, when I was pregnant with Nata, I was judging a kid. He was only 18 years old and his fate depended on my decision.

He got involved in a bad company that engaged in petty robberies. This guy didn't steal anything himself, he just made sure the police didn't come. And one day the situation got out of control. The police arrived earlier and caught the poor man red-handed, while the others managed to escape.

To save himself, he had to identify all members of the gang. But they did not remain in debt and blamed the guy half of their crimes. I had to deal with all this. I knew I would ruin his life if I put him under arrest. And I also knew he wasn't really to blame.

When I fully acquitted him and walked out of the courthouse, the defendant was waiting at the door: "I'm sorry." You saved my life, thank you! I promise I will not let you down and become a good person! I admit, it was nice, but the words of the guy I did not take seriously. I knew I would never meet him again. But his shrill voice stuck in my memory.

While on the plane, I heard him again. When we arrived, I waited for the pilot to come out to see if it was the right kid. And I wasn't wrong! He came out and noticed me right away. Immediately he approached and with a smile on his face said: Hello, Lydia Mikhailovna! As you can see, I kept my promise. Thank you for your second chance!

My former defendant looked so happy that I burst into tears. This is the case when you realize that you did the right thing, by conscience. In such moments, I feel more deeply than ever my involvement in human destiny. And how great it is to know that all this is not for nothing!

Life Wisdom: What does this story teach us? People really deserve a second chance. And such good and touching stories only confirm this. We are very happy that Lydia Mikhailovna gave the 18-year-old guy, who stumbled, the opportunity to start life from scratch. Probably, they were destined to meet after a long 20 years, so that the heroine once again convinced that she did the right thing.
