  3. You can not swear, be sad and indulge in despondency. All seven days you need to be as kind as possible, so as not to overshadow the bright holiday for others.



  4. You cannot get drunk and indulge in excess. Everything should be in moderation - food, alcohol. The priests say that it is better to drink only wine from alcohol during this period, leaving vodka for other periods.



  5. You can't work at the expense of the holiday. However, if you have working hours on a schedule, then there is nothing wrong. But if there is no great need, it is better to devote this time to communicating with friends and family. The Church does not prohibit work on this day, but the clergy recommend that household chores be postponed to another day.



  6. You can't clean. But there are also nuances: do not clean up in the full sense of the word, devoting half a day to washing floors and wiping dust. Of course, this does not apply to small household issues. Although, if it doesn't stop you from being in a festive mood, it's okay. In any case, this is not a ban, but a moral advice.



  7. You can't go to the cemetery. The Church forbids this week to hold memorial services and mourn the dead. For sorrow is contrary to the spirit of the feast, the joy of the Resurrection of Christ from the dead.



  8. You can also not lead an intimate life. Sexual activity is prohibited throughout the week. Two spouses should give up their intimate life. This is by mutual consent.



  9. It is also worth mentioning that it is forbidden to keep holy in the church. Sacred can only those products that were excluded from the diet in Lent. Alcohol is a complete taboo. Once it was customary to sanctify only sweet bread (kulich), eggs, meat, cheese and milk, and now put everything in the basket.



    You should not put in the Easter basket: alcohol, because in the church there is no place for drunks; money and other material values; blood sausage, it is not recognized by Orthodox ministers as fit for consumption. Do not bless salt and pepper, as these products were not prohibited during fasting.

    Putting these products in the Easter basket is more a folk tradition than a church tradition. Do not bring fruits and vegetables to church.





  10. You can't throw away the remains of Easter food. As a rule, after a festive feast there are remains of food - cakes, Easter, eggs. Do not throw away everything that is left uneaten! Do not even send eggshells to the trash! All remaining food is given to birds or animals.
