What will be the iPhone 13 and related models?

There are only a few weeks left before the iPhone 13 is finally announced. And while nothing is known until Apple officially unveils the device, one thing is for sure: if anyone knocks the iPhone 12 out of the top camera phones, it will be the iPhone 13.

Design
Apple introduced a completely fresh design with the iPhone 12 with flat edges resembling the “five”. The new shape certainly tends to persist for the next few generations, so no one would be surprised if it were in 13 models. However, there are already major rumors about what changes may occur in the design.
  • First, the iPhone 13 may have the change you’ve been waiting for: a smaller bang. Long considered a scourge of the phone's supposedly full-screen design, the FACE ID frame has remained unchanged since it first appeared on the Model X in 2017. Although, according to rumors, it will not completely disappear (for now).
  • A second (and more controversial) rumor suggests that at least one future model could be the first iPhone without a port. Apple has a habit of what it calls "bold" design decisions, from removing the headphone slot to abandoning the charging unit in a bundle of new models. And with the introduction of MagSafe charging, it became apparent that the company would try to wean users off Lighting.

As for colors, there are rumors about new shades. The color scheme can include black, silver, rose gold and sunset gold. Apples want to see the appearance of matte black and bright pink.

Features and technical specifications
Among the latest leaks is a video posted on Twitter that allegedly shows the phone's final name: iPhone 13 (Pro and Pro Max).
At the moment, these are the most interesting potential functional updates:
  • The groove of the screen is 25% smaller so that there is more space on the screen.
  • The iPhone 13 Pro Max will be bigger than 12.
  • New diagonal camera location and enlarged camera module.
  • There will probably be no Touch ID.
  • LTPO display with refresh rate of 120 Hz and muted screen.

Perhaps one of the most intriguing features is its ability to communicate with satellites in low-Earth orbit (LEO). This technology could be a game changer for mobile operators.

If Apple’s new phone allows this to happen, it would mean users could connect to LEO satellites to contact emergency services or relatives via text messaging in places where no cellular service is available. While the phone won’t work as a satellite, this messaging service can certainly be helpful in emergencies.

It is expected that in the 13 lineup there will be larger batteries, new camera features, an “A15” chip, up to 1 TB of memory and more.

Camera.
Leaks suggest that a folding “periscopic” lens will be introduced, which will give the possibility of increasing to 50x. The successor can defeat the current leader among iPhones, if the periscope lens is really implemented.

Another rumor regarding the camera concerns portrait mode. Apparently, portrait mode can be used even for videos, not just for photos.
