Why modern students need to dress up in school uniforms

School rules "Preparation for the final class was in full swing." I had to lead a lineup as part of a folklore group. So first I put on a luxurious folk costume. And in place took a specially prepared festive outfit. The first of September! My mother made me light golden trousers made of steak satin, and we bought a fashionable elongated sand-colored jacket for them. And all this beauty was girded with a laconic strap.

Our gymnasium was one where strict school rules existed. First, all those who were late were marked on a special list - a sheet of shame. Second, of course, the school had a dress code. “No jeans and other nonsense!” our teachers and administration never tired of repeating.



My classmate insisted on buying me a classic suit. But I always politely refused. When I heard this from the head teacher, I replied in more detail: “Sorry, Anna Sergeevna, such clothes interfere with my self-expression and demean my love for aesthetics.” I was very reserved and correct, because I used to talk to adults this way. But the school administration didn’t think so.

We had a physics test that day. Of course, by coincidence, I was “taken out of class” and called to the director. The whole school feared her and her parents respected her. Such a genre classic... In general, Natalia Petrovna gave me an icy look and reported that she had heard about my unsatisfactory behavior. It turned out that I allowed myself liberties, talked to the headmaster rudely and almost trampled with discontent.



This statement was very insulting. There was really nothing like that. And I wore dressy pants very rarely. The director's monologue ended with the phrase: "Sparkling pants won't hide your rotten gut." When I left the office, Natalia Petrovna added that I should think about my behavior.



At that moment, I felt like a little offended girl. I was only 16 years old and had no idea how to defend myself against such attacks. 1. Social status. Supporters of school uniforms insist that it makes all children equal. The same clothes will not cause conflict between children. In addition, there will be no reason to discuss the affluence of each other’s families and other things. But let’s be honest, this argument has not worked for a long time. Because the difference in financial situation will still be visible. Exterior clothes, shoes, backpack and even ordinary notebooks all show how wealthy parents are. 2. Individuality. Many parents refuse school uniforms, as they do not allow the child to express himself. But it seems to us that the development of individuality is hard complex work. And it doesn't just include clothes. The child should know what clothes are suitable for a particular case. And torn jeans or a sweatshirt with a frank neckline is clearly not the best option for school.
3. Discipline. Wearing a school uniform, the child clearly knows that he is going to learn. It helps to control emotions and behavior. And visually immediately as if the back is aligned, and the gait becomes more confident. On the other hand, in uniform, children may feel constrained and limited. Other arguments Cost. Many people prefer the form because it is very convenient. You can buy one school kit before the start of the school year - and it's ready! However, a really good school uniform made of quality materials is expensive. After all, no one wants his child to be all day in a soaring shirt or a jacket made of polyester. Also, kids love to frolic about change. Therefore, the form will often have to be erased and brought into proper shape. It is cheaper to create a comfortable and suitable for school wardrobe than to stock up on several sets of uniforms at once.



Business style. School uniforms give children a sense of style. Students should be aware of the purpose of the dress code and what status it corresponds to. However, not everyone has a business style, and it is not clear whether each of the children in the class will need it. In addition, sometimes poorly sitting on the child school uniform becomes a reason for peer attacks.





Every school has its own school-law. Somewhere they are tougher, somewhere softer. However strict the dress code, school uniforms should never be the standard of morality. The personality of a child does not depend on how he is dressed.
