A sad experience with the Chinese, which I do not want to repeat for any money

A good friend of mine recently returned from China. His trip to China delighted his parents, who invested a lot of money in his son’s education. So, Maxim was offered a job in China, of course, he agreed. And then stayed in a Chinese firm for 3 years. Max has learned a lot from his colleagues. But there are things in the Chinese mentality that make Maxim miss his homeland.

My boss wanted to open a network of English language schools in China. He found a wealthy investor and hired employees. Looking ahead, I must say that it was not possible to do everything as I wanted. I learned a lot from working with my Chinese colleagues. The Chinese are very hardworking, decent, you can easily find a common language with them. But there are things that I just hated in the process.

Punctuality: There is a special fingerprint device at the entrance to the office. This scanner records the time of departure and arrival of employees. In China, innovative technologies are commonplace. There are scanners in schools. Well, the rules are harsh.

For a delay of 5 minutes, a fine of 2 thousand rubles is charged and then on an increasing basis. It seemed that such a solution to the problem was useless. Those workers who are late all the time pay a fine and then are late again. Apparently, for the Chinese, discipline is above all else.”

“Even when employees aren’t doing anything, they can’t just sit around.” You have to pretend that you are working. Whether you’ve done all the work for the day or not, you always have to do something. The bosses monitor the employees using surveillance cameras and even using an app in the phone. So all this show-off is aimed at preventing the boss from coming up with a new job.”

It’s probably not just in China that this happens. But many foreigners often face deception in a foreign country, and China, alas, is no exception. Ignorantly, the stranger overpays for terrible housing, does more work for less. It is easier for those who know Chinese to assert their rights and gain respect. As a result, you will receive more money for your work.”

As you can see, every job has its nuances. And the mentality in a foreign country is not always clear to foreigners. Have you ever worked abroad? Share your experience in the comments. We look forward to interesting stories. Have a good day.
