The salvation of the Ghost ship in Antarctica

Brazilian research vessel Mar Sem Fim used a crew of four to create a documentary about Antarctica. After a struggle with wind up to 60 mph, the ship was in the ice captivity in the Maxwell Bay, king Island-George, about 745 miles to the South of South America. Fortunately, after two days of delays due to adverse weather conditions, the team was rescued by people from the Chilean naval base in Antarctica. 7 APR 2012 the ship damaged by ice, sank.

The boat was lying at a depth of about 10 meters, but visible from the surface of the water. The ship lay at the bottom for almost a year, until the owner raised the boat with the help of divers and inflatable buoys. And though the ship was insured for 700 000$, it is unlikely to cover the damage caused by the ice and cold sea water.
