Reading as a punishment
You know what the most popular phrase I hear of a teacher of literature? "My child does not read: I already beat and kill, and it is still a book in hand does not take".

Mike recently turned 11 years old. In school, he loves to walk, the literature does not reject the books he reads, many of the characters knows. But the boy starts to hurt the stomach, when the teacher asks a poem by heart. Mike remembers that in the 5th grade he was forced to teach Sergei Yesenin ("there is something about the frustration of nature or in the homeland"). Then the whole evening was destroyed: the swearing, the screaming, the line was not in the head. Mike is now afraid of poetry, as of fire, and poetry for him does not exist in nature.
