As Chinese companies find and raise talents

"Working with the staff in Chinese companies is to hire as many cheap employees who will be working almost around the clock and actually for food" — this widespread stereotype has nothing to do with reality. On the contrary, the Chinese corporations are actively and purposefully invest in developing their staff.

One of the largest Chinese companies Alibaba Group (market capitalization of $275 billion) built a whole system of finding and nurturing talent. Perhaps this helped her to become a leader in the global market of electronic Commerce.

Nurturing talent

System Alibaba is based on the ability to recognize the employee's potential, to put it in the General structure in its place and to develop an algorithm of its development. The company does not share employees on a brilliant and incompetent.

Each person is viewed in the same coordinate system, where X is its effectiveness of the employee, as measured by a graded scale (high, medium or low) and the Y — career potential (ambition, competence and opportunities for development).

The talent in the company by a special structure — Alibaba Global Leadership Academy. Here people come for the competition and evaluate them using the same coordinate system.

Encouraged independents as the main corporate values of Alibaba Group — motivation, desire to grow and develop not only within the company but also beyond its borders. To enter the Academy and people from the outside (and from around the world), but priority is given to own personnel.

Selected employees undergo modular training for 16 months. They not only learn in class but also learn from the experience in the field, during training, employees can work at multiple business units.

The Academy does not aim to develop any professional competence. Its mission — to educate leaders who support the culture of Alibaba. The main program of the Academy, "a Transformational program of talent development", devoted to identifying future international leaders of Alibaba. After training, the Academy staff to appoint to senior business roles.

Talent search in the education system

Alibaba relies not only on their corporate system. The company is constantly looking for talented employees in the outside world, she actively helps the education system of China.

In particular, Alibaba has partnered with Shanghai School. This educational institution renowned for the outstanding academic performance that provide a rigid training, strict rules and discipline.

Here is a school day at this school:

5:30 — Wake up with music.

5:40 — Gathering in the Playground.

5:45-6:15 — Beg. During the morning Jogging each student must keep a book, in between running to read aloud.

6:15-6:50 — the Time allotted for memorization of knowledge (lots of reading).

6:50-7:10 — Breakfast.

7:10-7:50 — Self-repetition, testing each other's knowledge.

8:00-11:00 — Four pairs of classes.

11:20-12:00 Self — repetition.

12:00-12:40 — Lunch.

12:45-13:30 — Sleep.

13:40-18:00 — Five pairs of classes.

18:00-18:20 Dinner.

18:20-22:50 — Self-repetition.

23:10 — lights out.

This system of training makes the talented children (the other would be there not taken) in strong fighters, hunted by the Internet giants.

Another global project, "A100" (cooperation with 100 world universities), allows Alibaba to launch tentacles in every corner of the earth. In this project, Alibaba provides students with its database and resources, provides educational institutions cloud technologies and big data laboratories, integrating education with research. For three years, the program should help to collect and grow the company 50,000 talents (results not disclosed).

While Alibaba does not give remote workers, freelancers and temporary teams and even helps them to develop their projects. For example, in Hong Kong, the company has organized the Alibaba Hong Kong Young Entrepreneurs Foundation — a Fund to support entrepreneurs with capital of $128 million

Companies take the talent

They often say that Alibaba is a unique company. This is largely true, but talent is not only it. Huawei, for example, by the end of 2014 created 45 training centers worldwide to develop local expertise and to give them necessary knowledge.

To do this, the firm has attracted more than 1200 qualified teachers, more than 200 professional designers and training developers. Huawei has also offered scholarships and internships to outstanding students. Today were already trained 10 000 students from more than 100 universities in 35 countries. This strategy allows Huawei to get the best engineering talent around the world.

Chinese leaders, to develop a methodology for working with talents, developed the company rapidly costs that they have invested in the first phase in their employees pays off at times.

When it comes to achievements, age – no more than a figure

The ENERGY of MONEY: whether to give or to take money in debt

Unfortunately, Russian companies still have not developed methods of working with gifted employees. Employers disown talents, as I don't know how to motivate them and to create the conditions necessary for their fulfillment. In addition, Russian business practice is not to collect talent around the world — as long as we stay donors.published
