The lake district in England

According to the photographer Verity Milligan (Verity Milligan), a mountainous region in North West England with the poetic name of lake district — one of the best places to enjoy autumn. Local scenic landscapes with steep mountains, misty valleys and glassy lakes in the autumn are more beautiful than at any other time of the year.

The name of the region was due to the large number of major lakes — Windermere, Ullswater, Bassenthwaite, Derwent water. Here is the national Park "lake district", and in it, the highest point in England the mountain of Scafell pike.

Here lived the English children's writer and artist Beatrix Potter and the representatives of the so-called "lake school" — the romantic poets Wordsworth, Coleridge and Southie, which were inspired by the amazing local scenery and wrote his mystical ballads. Images thanks to Verity Milligan today we can plunge into the romantic atmosphere.
