Hotel with five billion stars in Norway

Photographer Damon Beckford traveled 3,500 kilometers to stay in a “Norwegian hotel” with five billion stars. Most of the time he spent the night in a wind-blown tent, which he felt was not suitable for winter tourism in Norway.

- I went from Helsinki to Tromsø in my old and loose Ford Escort with my fellow adventurer Mika-Pekka Markkanen. We went to Seña and the Lofoten Islands and then came back. In total, we drove more than 3,500 km in 12 days. We slept in a tent. One windy night we found shelter in an abandoned campground. We had to sleep in an ice house for kebabs - but at least it protected us from the wind. There was also a shower, but we didn’t have coins to pay to heat the water, so we took an ice shower.

We spent one unforgettable night in a cave, and water dripped on my face all the time – a real Chinese torture. Later we learned that bones and skulls of ancient people were found in this cave. One creepy evening -- it was my fellow misfortune's birthday -- we thought we'd sleep in the car. However, later they decided to put a tent, which was immediately blown away by the wind. Thank God she's caught on the bushes. Miki-Pekka's camera was in a tent that landed in a puddle and everything got wet. We were lucky and nothing broke. Five minutes later, we locked the car keys in the trunk. After a moment of panic, cursing the night, we still gathered and managed to get the keys. In the end, we managed to sleep for several hours in a wet tent, but the frenzied wind all night whipped our faces with its damp cloth.

Despite all the difficulties, the guys managed to make amazing shots!
