For the Kuroshio - eternal power for humanity

To the East of Taiwan at sea tested a generator that can produce electricity using current, Kuroshio. On the platform from which launch equipment, working together, scientists from different countries.

"Still a little-who managed successfully to extract energy from ocean currents this way. But our experiment was a success. We were even able to produce more than 26 kilowatts of electricity," says project leader Professor Chen Yang-Yin.This generator can produce 50 kilowatts of electricity. Even in winter, when the flow rate is reduced, the production of electricity is still possible: the main thing is to locate the generator at the correct angle.

"While the Earth rotates around its axis, ocean currents will exist. The speed of these currents is also stable. Their direction is unchanged. That is why the ocean is becoming a steady source of energy, which you can only dream of. The kinetic energy becomes mechanical, and that in turn is transformed into electrical power. And thus it is possible to continuously produce electricity," continues Yang-Yin.The Professor says that electricity generation environmentally friendly method is very important as it will help Taiwan to get rid of dependence on nuclear energy, which now meets 16% of energy needs of the island.

It should be noted that while tests are conducted on the prototype generator. The results of the tests and the accuracy of the data will help researchers in further work on the improvement of conversion technology of ocean current into electricity.
