Mall BIO Campus: sustainable interaction between "man and nature"
Design firm AllesWirdGut has proposed a project to create a sustainable community on the outskirts of Istanbul. The project is called BIO Campus. The inspiration for our project was the landscape and natural features of this region, a new shopping center located here, which houses retail and office space will be, as planned by the developers of the project, to blend in with the local landscape. The design of the BIO Campus emphasizes the importance of the interaction between "man and nature".
The shape and appearance of the shopping center from the BIO Campus mimics the sand dunes, which are found in some regions of Turkey. The developers of the project believe that the facilities are perfect to accommodate people coming from other countries to the climatic characteristics of the region. On the facades of the building are solar light filters that allow the flow of natural light into the room, not missing out the sunlight.
And the outside and inside of the building for the project is provided the lush vegetation that helps to preserve the natural coolness in the premises and significantly reduces the need for air conditioning. Each structure of the center will be an outdoor atrium, creating a visual connection with the visitors on each floor and exposing the flow of fresh air and light.
Each block shopping center will include a climate control system that will prevent the massive use of energy for heating or for cooling rooms. BIO Campus – a great way to effectively organize the needs of a growing city and offer space for sustained social interaction "man and nature".
