Long-eared jerboa — the "uchastie" creature on the planet

Among the most long-eared animal planet the leading place is occupied by long-eared jerboa (Euchoreutes naso). This rare little creature is the size is not more than 9 cm has the longest ears in the world, if considered relative to body length. The length of the ears reaches 5 cm, which is more than half the length of its body. For comparison: the length of the ears of the African elephant is less than a quarter of the body length.

The animal moves in jerky hops using its long hind legs covered with a special gun that allows him to stay on the surface of the sand. Food eared denizen of the desert are insects.

Long ears, developing along the body when moving, sharp little snout with small eyes and a thin long tail make it a peculiar creature quite amusing. Very fun to see jumping of this big-eared mini-kangaroo, and studied English zoologists during an expedition in the Gobi desert.
