Charming shelter in Kenya for orphaned elephants

Nairobi the capital of Kenya but also the starting point for travelling around East Africa. Often the city and its surroundings left without special attention, keeping memory traffic and dust. Econet decided to devote a day to Nairobi area only on the third visit of the city. Watching out of the window at the expanse of the Nairobi national Park, which is nearby, the animals we have not noticed, so instead of the Park decided to visit the rehabilitation centre for elephants, the David Sheldrick orphanage.

The orphanage David Sheldrick center for the rehabilitation and rescue of orphaned elephants who were victims of the local population or injured from poachers. Bring them here not only from Kenya but also from neighbouring countries. Cubs are nursed until they are ready for independent living in one of the national parks.

The center exists primarily on donations, not on income from tourists. Though the entrance fee is tiny, it is hard to get here – visitors puskajut only 1 hour a day, from 11 to 12 am.

The skin of babies is tender and very vulnerable. In nature from sunlight kids protect maternal back, and in a rehabilitation center for this purpose covers. Somehow, the females really like it when they blow in the nose.
