One of the most interesting attractions are charcoal furnace in the United States

Charcoal kiln is one of the most interesting attractions of the State historical Park ward, which is located in Nevada (USA). In the late 19th century, they were built to produce charcoal from pine and juniper. In those years there was a large city ward, which was famous for silver mining. Later the furnaces were used for other purposes: they were makeshift shelters like peaceful travelers and stagecoach robbers.



The furnace was so called by Thomas ward, the founder of the settlement. In 1872 he organized in the area mining gold and silver ore, which required the melting furnace. Built in huge hives, they perfectly retain high temperature for slow burning of wood and coal production.



The furnace sizes is considerable: 30 feet tall and 27 feet in diameter at the base. This method of producing charcoal was used not only Americans, for the first time this technology has mastered the Scandinavians and the inhabitants of Eastern Europe. In the mining districts of Nevada the secret of production was due to immigrants.
