Electric cars and their history

In 1931, in the city of Buffalo at the factory producing cars, tested the progenitor of the car with an electric motor. The tests took place under the direction of Nikola Tesla. Instead of an engine running on liquid fuel, an electric motor was placed in the car.

It was 85 cm long and 30 cm in diameter. All the wires from him were brought out. After a thorough inspection of the machine, Tesla went to the radio parts store, where he bought various lamps, wires - everything he needed for the experiment.

From everything he bought, he built a device and placed it in a small box the size of a shoebox, which he put on the seat next to the driver. On the box were fixed two metal rods about fifteen centimeters long. I got behind the wheel, turned on the engine and drove. This car could travel at a speed of 145 km / h.

For about a week, Tesla used his creation. All this time, journalists wanted to understand how the engine is turned on. After all, there was no visible connection of the car to the power source. To all questions about this, the inventor answered that energy is taken from the ambient ether. Of course, at a time when nothing was known about radio-controlled mechanisms, such an answer could not be taken seriously. Therefore, journalists have published that the scientist is associated with witchcraft. This angered Nicola and he left the trials, taking his box. Tesla never mentioned this invention again. Unfortunately, the Great Depression of the thirties interrupted experiments with electric motors.

And if at the beginning of the nineteenth century the discovery of the great Tesla was taken differently, then, most likely, not our children, but our fathers as children would play radio-controlled machines.

Currently, there is a company Tesla Motors, which specializes in the production of electric vehicles. Already in 2013, the company recorded a profit of more than $ 11 million. The investment of capital in the company is more than 7 billion dollars. The shares of this company are constantly growing. This only suggests that electric cars are a viable alternative to internal combustion engines. Buying a car helps you say goodbye to your old, gasoline-powered car and swap it for a modern electric car. From an environmental point of view, these cars should occupy a leading position in the automotive industry. When all motorists switch to electric cars, we will have air in which there will be no combustion products of liquid fuel.
