British Airwayse—flying on energy from waste
The project for the processing of waste into fuel is owned by "salty-Fuels" and was named "Green sky". For its implementation it is planned to use a former oil refinery in Terrace, Essex. The modified plant is planned to open by 2017-th year.
According to preliminary calculations, the production of 120 000 tons of fuel will be required 575,000 tons of waste. The developers plan thus to solve several global problems: to rid the planet of waste, to save on fuel and cut therefrom, the amount of harmful emissions. As for the British airline, he has already stated that it will annually purchase 50,000 tonnes of this fuel on a normal market at competitive prices.
