Chilean botanists found the vine-chameleon

    




The amazing feature of the woody vine Boquila trifoliolata is that it leaves completely mimic the shape, color, size and spatial orientation of the leaves of that tree on which it lives. Interestingly, the hanging part of the vine outside of the barrel, has its own "native" sheets.

According to the Chilean botanists, as the plant is protected from natural enemies of herbivorous insects, for example beetles. While remains a riddle-like mechanism "parody".

Scientists suggest that Boquila trifoliolata has the ability to absorb chemicals plants-the original, and not one, but several. In the scientific environment, this ability is referred to as mimetic polymorphism, found among certain species of butterflies.
