Forgotten masterpiece of architecture - Sammezzano Castle

This Moorish-style palace is not in Spain or even North Africa, as one might think, but in the Italian gourmet capital of Tuscany. Sammezzano Castle was built in 1605 by Jimanes of Aragon and for many years remained a family estate. In the 20th century, the vacant Sammezzano was turned into a hotel, and after it passed into the hands of private companies, which for 3 decades could not decide on a large-scale reconstruction and, finally, open the palace for mass visits.
