The first electroanalyt from Airbus
Electric vehicles are nothing new. Even electrowettable we had. How about electroanalyt? Airbus has developed its first aircraft that runs completely on electricity.
Double plane by the name IFAN (E-Fan) is equipped with two motors, which are hidden in the wings. The aircraft still can not fly long — the stock battery is enough for 1 hour of flight. Yes and the speed of it is small — only 183 kilometers per hour. But the important thing here is the precedent of creating electroanalyt. Perhaps in the future will be able to "mix" this with the development of conventional aircraft, and will be more environmentally friendly machine. We, incidentally, once wrote about hybrid aircraft students from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University and the competition of the hybrid aircraft, Green Flight Challenge.
E-Fan is an experimental project. The experience gained in its development will be used in other, larger projects. Ultimately, the company plans to develop a small (80 seats) hybrid aircraft for local air traffic.
In 2017, the E-Fan will be used for training pilots.
In terms of work on electricity producers of the aircraft is very far behind his fellow motorists. In the foreseeable future can not see passenger planes on batteries. However, Airbus is confident in the future: by 2050, they expect 75% to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90 percent and reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and be quieter at 65%. A significant role to play in this development related to the use of "clean" energy.
Jean Botti (Jean Botti), chief engineer at Airbus believes that the company is on the right track.
