7 Amazing Bus Stops
In Krumbach (Krumback), which is located in Austria, built new bus stops. They look amazing. They were built during the project BUS:STOP Krumbach. Seven local architects and seven architects from other countries have jointly created seven bus stops that combine everything. From modern cutting, shiny and angular spaces, to authentic “squaws” and a kind of logging.
Krumbach is a small town (a total of 2220 inhabitants), which does not prevent it from receiving 30,000 tourists every year. In recent years, several architecturally interesting buildings and a new bus station have been built in the city. And now interesting architectural solutions moved to stops.
For example, the stop in the photo below is at the tennis court, and combines, in fact, a stop and a place from which it is convenient to watch the athletes.
Stop by Chinese architects from Hangzhou:
Alexander Brodsky, an architect from Russia, came up with such a “squawl”. The walls of the lower part are made of glass, and the upper part is provided for birds. Looks like a branch of a good cafe.
Smiljan Radic from Chile decided to make a “cabinet” of glass and concrete. Perhaps in the city it would look more organic, but here it looks unusual and very interesting. And the stop is equipped with a birdhouse (in the upper left corner).
Architects from Spain used untreated oak boards for their stop. This is how they are stacked for drying in villages around. The boards are laid in such a way that the space inside is protected from rain, and at the same time that standing at the stop you can look around. The boards decided to leave untreated so that the smell emanating from them was an integral part of the stop.
Belgian architects built their stop from intersecting glossy panels. Said it was their association with the roads crossing the county. It was April.
