Complex use of fillers and botulinum toxin for the treatment of nasal deformities
During the 2nd AMWC Eastern Europe International Congress, Dr. Dario Bertossi shared his experience of using hyaluronic acid to correct nasal angles and botulinum toxin for patients with hyperactivity of septinasal muscles and with the presence of nasolabial folds.
Dario Bertossi MD, Plastic Surgeon Associate Professor of the Faculty of Surgery of the University of Verona and a world-renowned specialist known for his innovations in surgical techniques, expert in advanced methods in maxillofacial surgery. He is actively involved in research and educational programs in maxillofacial surgery at the University of Verona, Italy.
“We examined hundreds of non-smoking patients between the ages of 25 and 55. The analysis method we developed involved the use of vertical and horizontal lines to divide the nose into separate areas. All patients were given different doses of HA and botulinum toxin, says Dr. Bertossi.
Postoperative examination of the nasal grate showed a satisfactory effect and proved useful for accurate recordings. The overall level of complications was low. After 6 months of follow-up, the aesthetic result was positive, as was the satisfaction of patients and surgeons.
According to the expert, such a correction is a simple and very effective technique with immediate results. It can be used in cases where patients are reluctant to undergo surgery or where correction of minor defects of the nose is indicated. The results are satisfactory and no side effects have been reported so far. The effect of the procedure lasts 6-12 months.
