The locust invasion has forced the authorities of Bashkiria to declare a state of emergency

The authorities of Bashkiria has informed about the necessary measures that they had to go due to a locust invasion. From the middle of July the insects attacked a total of three districts of the Republic. That is why it was decided to introduce a regime of emergency.



Recall that a locust invasion in Bashkiria began in Abzelilovsky and Baimak regions since June 15.

Then the insects moved in Uchalinskiy rayon, where they also have unique climatic conditions. Representatives of the emergencies Ministry in Bashkortostan note that the normal insects of this species in the area are already exceeded by 4-6 times.

Experts estimate that the number of locusts per 1 square meter is 22 individuals, in severe cases – 32. All locust affected more than 20 000 hectares of crops and 1,000 hectares of perennial grasses.

The lesions are scattered in dozens of towns in the region. The farmers regret that the territory of the rains spared. Therefore, the dry and hot weather only supports the multiplication of harmful insects.

Harvest is almost completely destroyed for many miles along the river Sakmara. Coastal area from Belovskogo of the municipality to the village Abdulkarimovo densely occupied by locusts.

The insects caused serious damage to agriculture of the region, as it not only killed the crop, so also it is impossible to store hay. The fact that environmentalists carry out the processing of forest, agricultural fields and adjacent areas of special toxic substances.

Pastures, meadows and tracts are also subject to mandatory treatment. However, according to the instructions, after treatment with gimnastrada in these areas it is impossible to walk the cattle. The hay mow is also prohibited. And since now is the time of haymaking, many simply do not have time to make haystacks for the winter.

It is worth noting that the massive locust invasion can be called traditional for Bashkiria. Last summer the region has also suffered because of pests.
