Energy independent office complex in the suburbs of Oslo

The architectural bureau Snøhetta has reconstructed an office complex in one of the suburbs of the Norwegian capital. The two buildings, built in 1980, have an area of 2,600 square meters each, and consumed about 250 kWh of electricity per square meter. After modernization, all energy needs of the complex will be covered by an array of solar panels capable of producing 200,000 kWh annually. In addition to improving energy efficiency, both the interiors of the buildings and the facade have been updated with environmentally friendly materials, which has positively affected not only their appearance, but also provided a comfortable and healthy environment in the offices.
