Irises in the exterior of your garden
To me, these are the kings of my flower bed! Unpretentious and very spectacular! The flower "iris" got its name from Hippocrates, who gave the name to the plant in honor of the ancient Greek goddess Irida, who proclaimed the will of the Olympian gods to people.
The goddess Irida went down the rainbow to the earth, so the word "Iris" in Greek means a rainbow. And according to another legend, when the titan Prometheus stole the heavenly fire on Olympus and gave it to people, the rainbow flashed on earth with a marvelous seven-colored – so great was the joy of all life in the world. Already the sunset had burned out, and the day was gone, and the sun was gone, and the rainbow still shone over the world, giving people hope. It didn't go out until dawn. And when the sun returned to its place in the morning, where the magic rainbow burned and shimmered with colors, irises bloomed!
The most important thing in caring for them that I do is watering if the summer is dry, fertilizing with mineral mixtures. And I divide the bushes when they grow big. Now I have only 5 views, but I hope to buy more!
And this year I also had a swamp iris (she dug up in the swamp). I put it in the dampest place on the station.
In Japan, it is believed that iris protects homes from harmful influences... another reason to get a bush of iris!
