How to clean the kitchen without household chemicals
In this article, we will tell you how to make the kitchen shine clean, using only the tools that you always have at your fingertips (at least you should).
Stainless steel
In the kitchen, stainless steel is everywhere – from refrigerators to toasters and sinks. Stainless steel utensils also have almost everyone - it is durable and practical, but over time it can fade and become covered with a hard-to-wash coating, which is formed as a result of fat oxidation. In order to return the stainless steel original shine, you will need the following:
vinegar
soda
cotton-cloth
sponge
Wet the cloth with vinegar and with circular movements treat the surface of stainless steel. Vinegar acts as an organic solvent and will remove all fat that has not yet oxidized. Now, to finally get rid of the plaque, sprinkle the surface with soda and thoroughly wipe the vinegar-moistened cloth again. Rinse with water. Soda in combination with vinegar removes the most persistent stains from cutlery and countertops.
Copper.
Copper products are oxidized constantly and over time overgrown with green patina. On antiques patina can look very good, but in the kitchen it definitely does not belong. To remove plaque from copper products, you will need:
vinegar
salt
soda
A pot that could fit a thing in need of cleaning
The easiest way to clean a copper product is to keep it in water with added salt and vinegar. Mix in a pan one tablespoon of salt with one cup of vinegar and three cups of water. Dip the copper thing in the resulting mixture, put the pan on the fire, and let it boil until the copper is cleaned. Then extinguish the fire and wait until the contents of the pan cool to room temperature. After that, wash the copper with the usual dishwashing liquid – to get rid of the smell of vinegar. Done.
In order to remove individual spots from the copper surface, lemon and ketchup are well suited. If you decide to use a lemon, cut the slice, generously sprinkle it with salt and wipe the problem area. If only lemon juice is on hand, mix it with corn starch before gruel formation or use ketchup right out of the bottle. In any case, do not forget to then thoroughly wash the copper thing, using liquid for washing dishes.
marble
The marble countertops look luxurious. The problem is that this stone is very porous and absorbs all the dirt like a sponge. The more time passes, the deeper this dirt penetrates and the less chance it will ever get rid of. If you have a marble countertop, you will need:
cotton-rag
sponge
warm-water
hydrogen
suede
First of all, gently wet the spilled liquid with a sponge - without pressing, it will only get worse. Now moisten the fabric with warm water and thoroughly wipe the marble. After that, immediately wipe dry with a suede cloth. Next step: pour a little hydrogen peroxide on the stain and let it soak up for a minute, then wipe again with a wet cloth and dry the suede.
Be careful, and try not to spill citrus juices and other liquids containing acid on marble, as they literally corrode the stone.
Plastic.
Plastic is the easiest to wash. You'll need:
lemon
salt
sponge
Cut the lemon in half, microwave for 30 seconds, salt the surfaces and wipe your plastic. Then repeat the procedure with the second half and rinse with water. Okay.
Salt, lemons and vinegar are the holy trinity of the household. Keep them ready to eliminate an unexpected kitchen disaster at any time with minimal losses.
