Facebook for the Rich, a membership that costs $9,000

Meet Netropolitan, a new social network that bills itself as “an online club for people with more money than time.” It was launched two days ago, and its founders insist it's not a joke.

The cost of membership in this network costs $ 9,000 – 6,000 down payment, and 3,000 annual payments. To join the club, you must be over 21 years old. It is supposed to allow you to communicate with people in your circle, but Netropolitan refuses to provide any information about its user base.

“It is extremely important to us to preserve the privacy of our members,” the company said. “Besides the fact that we already had a few hundred members on opening day, we will never again publicly name the number of members of our club.” We will NEVER publish or confirm the identity of any of them.”

But what will that $9,000 give you? In fact, a Facebook clone. In the screenshots, you can see that user profiles include: activity, profile itself, notifications, messages, location, friends, and followers. The update field will let you tell your friends “where you are and what you’re going to do.”

In addition, users of the club will have access to unlimited cloud storage.

Also, for this money, users will get a space completely free of advertising. Club members can place their own ads in a special segment, but the site promises never to show third-party ads or promote any specific products.

Netropolitan is the brainchild of composer James Touchie-Peters, whose goal was to "create a space where you can talk about beautiful things without facing backlash."
