10 people of the world Hall of fame of the Internet, which you may have never heard

The so-called "Hall of fame of the Internet" is functioning, as you can imagine from its name is an homage to the people from ancient times to the present day, who in one way or another to make a significant contribution to the development of the Internet.

Of course, here are the well known personalities – such as Linus Torvalds, Creator of Linux, or Tim Berners-Lee, the father of modern Networking. But apart from them there are many people whose names are not famous and revered (and deservedly so) only in the technical community. Who is Donald Davis? And who is D. S. R. Licklider? And why they (and many others) is so important that their names are in the hall of fame?

Charles Hertzfeld was the Director of DARPA in the 1960s and is most remembered as the man accepted the decision about creation of the ARPANET – an early ancestor of the Internet

Donald Davis is one of the key inventors of packet switching system, the fundamental technology behind the development of the modern Internet

Elizabeth Feinler (which is often called just "Jake"), was the Director of the Center "Network Information Systems" from 1972 to 1989, where she could watch as the ARPANET slowly evolyutsioniruet in the first primitive Internet
